The Panorama City multi-purpose complex is our most significant project in the recent years. Since 2005, we compiled for the investor several studies on this location, which finally became the basis for awarding that project to one of the most significant contemporary architects – Ricardo Bofill from Barcelona. As the local partner of the company Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura, we cooperated 2005-2008 in the compilation of the design documentation for the multi-purpose complex Panorama City. This complex united the functions of offices, shops, services, hotel and housing, thus constituting a full-fledged multi-purpose complex in a very unique location of Bratislava's ever extending centre along the Danube banks.
The heart of the original design of Panorama City was the vast eliptical square, representing a significant central point of the new and modern city block with the nature and quality typical to the traditions of this city's centre. Around it, restaurants and premises of commercial significance were supposed to be situated - as well as the main hotel lobby. In contact with the north-edge of the square, two slim high-rising apartment towers were designed, becoming a significant orientation point of the concerning area.
Currently, the 1st execution stage of the Panorama City project is under way — based on a design documentation compiled by our company. In spite of the economic crisis and the temporary suspension of this project, as well as and the subsequent invitation of the location program — those will become the dominant of the whole complex.
The apartments will be situated on the floors 5 to 33, each having a balcony or loggia. Large area apartments on the top floor will have terraces. The triangular shape of the towers will provide their with a perfect orientation and a beautiful view of the city's panorama. The ground floor will house shops and the basement + the floors 1-4 will house a car park. The main entrance lobbies to the housing part will be accessible from the street Landererova, subsequently offering access to the communication cores of the towers with 4 express-lifts.
In substance-terms, the architecture ties up with the original concept of triangular towers as designed by Bofill. However, we adapted the creative solution of the facades somewhat more to the “housing function”. We also adapted the termination of the towers with large-area terraces, and make them harmonise with the neighbouring Tower 115. With the distinct horizontal lines - the visitors of the Panorama City complex will definitely remember the very clean colour scheme of the whole work, where white colour permeates the interior down to the tiniest details.
